What every platform actually demands

Checked against Allegro's seller rules, Amazon Seller Central guidance, eBay's picture policy and Etsy's help centre in July 2026. Every preset in the tool is built to hit these numbers exactly, so you tick a box instead of reading a rulebook. Platforms revise specs, so confirm before a very large upload.

Allegro 2560 whitePure white 255,255,2552560 x 2560, JPEG, sRGBThumbnails must be uniform white 255,255,255, no border, no text, no logo. Longer side 400 to 2560 px, up to 26 Mpx. Bigger files get downscaled by Allegro, which costs sharpness, so 2560 is the sharpest legal size.exact
Allegro 1600 whitePure white 255,255,2551600 x 1600, JPEG, sRGBSame rule, smaller file. Useful on slow connections or for bulk API uploads.exact
Allegro fashion greyLight grey #EBEBEB2560 x 2560, JPEG, sRGBAllegro allows uniform light grey instead of white only in selected Fashion, Kids and Sport subcategories, and defines it in HSV with brightness V of at least 0.8. Our grey sits at V = 0.92, comfortably inside the rule.exact
Amazon 2000 whitePure white 255,255,2552000 x 2000, JPEG, sRGBThe strictest of them all. The main image must be pure white AND the product must fill at least 85 percent of the frame, or Amazon suppresses the listing. Zoom needs 1000 px minimum, 1600 to 2000+ recommended, 10 MB cap. Our default padding fills 86 percent.exact
eBay 1600 whiteWhite, recommended not forced1600 x 1600, JPEGeBay does not force white but recommends white or light grey and rewards it in search. 500 px is the minimum, 1600 px is the exact threshold where desktop zoom switches on, 12 MB cap. No borders, text or watermarks.exact
Etsy 2000 whiteWhite, recommended2000 x 2000, JPEGEtsy recommends at least 2000 px and a square 1:1 crop, and the first photo must be at least 635 px or the listing ranks lower. Etsy is the one place where lifestyle shots often beat studio white, so use white for clarity and lifestyle in slots 2 and up.exact
Instagram 1080White1080 x 1080, JPEGThe native square feed size. Anything larger gets recompressed by Instagram, which softens edges.exact
Facebook 1200x630White1200 x 630, JPEGThe link and ad preview ratio, 1.91:1. Product centred so nothing important is cropped on mobile.exact
YouTube 1280x720White1280 x 720, JPEGThe standard 16:9 thumbnail size.exact
Transparent PNGNone, alpha channelOriginal size, PNGFor designers, banners and A+ content. Not for an Allegro or Amazon main photo: both want white behind the product, not transparency.exact
CustomWhiteYour pixels, JPEGAny size from 100 to 4000 px, for shops that ask for something odd.exact

The two numbers that get listings punished

255,255,255. A photo shot in a cheap light tent is never pure white; it is grey or faintly blue, and the automated check sees it even when your eye does not. Removing the background and painting true white is the only reliable way to hit the value exactly.

85 percent. Amazon requires the product to fill at least 85 percent of the frame. Most sellers leave far too much empty margin, which also makes the thumbnail look weak next to competitors. The padding slider here defaults to a fill of 86 percent, which clears Amazon and still looks composed on Allegro.

One more thing nobody warns you about: some privacy browsers add tiny random noise to images created inside the browser, which pushes a perfect white down to 254 with no visible change at all. If yours does that, RemovalForge detects it and tells you, because near-white is exactly what these rules reject.
