Allegro photo requirements and how to pass them automatically
Allegro treats the first photo of every offer, the thumbnail, as the storefront of your product. Its rules are strict and enforced by automated image checks. This page summarizes the rules and shows how the free RemovalForge tool produces compliant files in one click.
The rules that matter
- Pure white background. The thumbnail background must be exactly RGB 255,255,255. Near-white, cream or light grey backgrounds fail automated verification. A defined light grey is allowed only in selected Fashion, Kids and Sport subcategories.
- Size. Longer side between 500 and 2560 pixels, up to 26 megapixels. Files larger than 2560 are downscaled by Allegro, which costs sharpness, so exporting at exactly 2560 x 2560 is the optimum.
- Color profile. sRGB. Other profiles get distorted by Allegro compression and your product colors shift on buyers' phones.
- Content. Only the product. No text, logos, watermarks, frames or decorations on photo one.
- Fill. Best-performing thumbnails let the product occupy roughly 80 to 90 percent of the frame.
Doing this for one photo is easy. Doing it for 100 is the problem.
Sellers importing catalogs deal with hundreds of supplier photos on colored backgrounds and random dimensions. RemovalForge removes the background with a neural network running inside your browser, bakes in true 255,255,255 white, trims and centers the product to an 85 percent fill, and exports 2560 x 2560 sRGB JPEGs, up to 100 photos per batch, free and without registration. Your images never leave your device.
